N'ganj Jamaat chief, 12 others placed on remand

A Narayanganj court yesterday granted three-day remand for 13 Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists, including its city Ameer and general secretary , in a case filed for plotting subversive

activities.

They are Ameer Maulana Moinuddin Ahmed, general secretary Abdul Quaium, Saifuddin Monir, Sahabuddin, Bashirul Hoque, SM Nasir Uddin, Sayed Talukder, Jakir Hossain-2, Jahangir Dewan, Jamal Uddin, Kafil Uddin, Jakir Hossain and Sahid Miah.

On information that a group of Jamaat men were holding a secret meeting, police raided Moinuddin's Fatullah house on Friday afternoon and made the arrest.

The case was filed yesterday morning.
