Youth found dead in Hatirjheel yesterday came from Ctg for job interview

The youth, whose body was recovered from Hatirjheel area yesterday, was a private university student. He arrived in Dhaka from Chattogram for a job interview.

The deceased was identified by his relatives as Azizul Islam Mehedi, a master's student at English department of Chattogram Islamic International University.

His relatives went to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue this noon and identified the body there.

The only son of Fakrul Islam -- of Sandwip -- Mehedi came to Dhaka on Saturday. He told his family that he would attend a job interview and do some work, said Shafayet Ullah, a cousin.

Hours later on that day, his phone was found switched off, he said.

Hatirjheel police recovered the body floating in the lake. The body was wrapped with polythene and net. The hands and legs were tied to the neck with rope.

Sub-inspector Sultana Jahan, duty officer of Hatirjheel Police Station, said drive is on but none has been arrested yet in this case.
