Woman killed in road crash

A woman was killed and her son injured after a pick-up hit their rickshaw in the capital’s Sadarghat yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Masuda Begum, 35, said Kazi Mainul Islam, OC of Ramna Police Station.

Masuda and her son Mahin, 10, were returning to Dhaka from Barishal.

The van hit the rickshaw when they were going to Moghbazar, around 8am.

After they fell down, the pick-up ran Masuda over, leaving her dead on spot.

Critically injured Mahin was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), Mainul said.
