Verdict has established rule of law: Menon

Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon yesterday said the August 21 grenade attack cases verdict has established rule of law in the country.

He was addressing a programme organised by Labour Welfare Foundation at Institution of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka.

Terming the verdict "historic", Menon said BNP had hoped that they would be able to smoothly execute the evil design of killing then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina and perpetrators would be spared.

The programme was chaired by Building Construction Labour Union President Rabiul Islam.
