Ustad Atiqur Rahman passes away

Renowned classical musician Ustad Atiqur Rahman passed away on May 24 night, at the age of 71.

The musician was suffering from a number of health complications, including diabetes, according to a press release issued by his family.

Atiqur Rahman left behind his ailing wife, three daughters, a son and numerous admirers at home and abroad.

Ustad Atiqur Rahman was born in 1942 at Sarail in Brahmanbaria.

He joined the then East Pakistan Radio in 1965 and was associated with the organisation for over 55 years.

Atiqur Rahman was laid to eternal rest at Sreepur, the press release added.
