UIU hosts Outcome Based Education network launching

The inauguration of the International Network for Outcome Based Education (IN4OBE) Bangladesh chapter was held virtually this Sunday.  

A first for the country, the programme was organised by United International University (UIU), said a press release.

IN4OBE is a team of educational experts and consultants who seek to bring transformation in education through authentic Outcome Based Education (OBE) to universities and other educational institutions across the world. 

Dr William Spady, CEO of IN4OBE, was present as the chief guest while Prof Mesbahuddin Ahmed, chairperson of Bangladesh Accreditation Council, and Prof  Muhammed Alamgir, member of University Grants Commission, were present as special guests. Prof AFM Saiful Amin, member secretary of the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education was present as the guest of honour.

UIU VC Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman presided over the ceremony, said the press document.

The chief guest said the launching markes the beginning of a new journey in the education system of the country."  

A total of four hundred people, including faculty members, academicians, researchers and other distinguished guests from various local and international universities were present in the virtual programme, the press release added.
