Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have detained two siblings over their alleged involvement in contraband yaba dealing in Gazipur.

The detainees were identified as Sohanur Rahman alias Sujan, 35, and his brother Sohel Rana, 28, both hailing from Roumari upazila of Kurigram, our local correspondent reports.

Rab-1 Company Commander Lt Commander Abdullah Al-Mamun made the disclosure this afternoon.

Tipped-off that some drug peddlers were selling yaba in front of the house of one Jabeda Begum last night, a Rab team conducted a raid there to nab them, he said.

The duo has been involved in drug dealing for a long time, he also said, adding that further legal proceedings were underway against them.

Around 2,920 pieces of yaba pills, four mobile phones and some cash were recovered from their possession, the Rab official added.
