Two more killed in road crashes

Two persons were killed and another was injured in road accidents in two districts yesterday, according to reports from our correspondents.

In Rangpur, a schoolgirl was killed as a bus hit her while she was crossing Dinajpur-Rangpur highway in Ghanirampur village of Taraganj upazila.

Nijhum Akter, 7, daughter of Nurul Islam, was a first-grader of Ghanirampur Government Primary School. 

In Nilphamari, a worker of a factory located at Uttara EPZ was killed and his wife injured as his motorbike was run over by a speeding truck on Nilphamari-Saidpur road at Kachari point.

Jewel Islam, 23, son of Motiar Rahman from Subarnakhuli village in Dinajpur, died on the spot, said police.

Jewel and his wife Jemi Akhtar, 20, used to work at Ventura Leatherware Mfy (BD) Ltd.

In the afternoon, the couple were returning home from their workplace. Jewel lost control while giving space to the truck coming from the opposite direction, said police.
