Two JMB operatives arrested with jihadist magazines, video clips

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two JMB operatives in Lalmonirhat and Dinajpur on Thursday.

Several jihadist magazines in digital format and video clips were seized from them, said Ahsan Habib, media wing officer of Rab-13 of Rangpur, at a press conference at its office yesterday.

In Dinajpur, a team of the Rapid Action Battalion raided Shikdarhat village in Sadar upazila and arrested Abdur Rashid, 48, hailing from Saidpur village under Dinajpur Sadar upazila.

Earlier, he had served in Dinajpur jail in a militancy case for seven years. However, he continued such militant activities even after being released, said the media wing officer of Rab.

Based on his information, another Rab team arrested Mahmud Hasan Ruman, of Rasulganj village of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat, at a Chowrangi Bazar shop in the upazila, he added.

Both of them confessed to their involvement with the banned militant outfit, said the Rab official.

They were also plotting terror attacks in the districts, the media official added. They were involved with the “manpower recruitment team” of the militant outfit, he added.
