Two-day conference on Rohingya crisis begins at NSU

A two-day international conference on “Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions”, organised by North South University (NSU) in collaboration with UNHCR, began on the university’s Bashundhara campus in Dhaka yesterday, says a press release.

HT Imam, political adviser to the prime minister, was present at the inaugural session as chief guest.

Dr Syed Hamid Albar, former minister for foreign and home affairs of Malaysia, was present as the keynote speaker.

Alistair Boulton, assistant regional representative of UNHCR; Lion Benajir Ahmed, chairman, board of trustees, NSU; MA Kashem, a member of the board; and Dr Md Enamur Rahman, state minister for disaster management and relief, were present as special guests at the event, presided over by NSU Vice Chancellor Prof Atiqul Islam.

Among others, NSU pro-VC Prof M Ismail Hossain, deans of different schools, directors, administrative heads, faculty members, other senior officials, and the university students were present on the occasion.
