Trawler capsize in Meghna leaves two dead

Two people died after a trawler capsized during a sudden storm at Charkilla area of Meghna river at Hijla upazila of Barishal yesterday morning.
Bangladesh Inland Water Authority's (BIWTA) Joint Director at Barishal, Ajmal Huda Mithu said a trawler carrying farming labourers was on its way to Janpur when it capsized around 8:30am. The operator of the trawler and ten passengers reached the shore but two were missing.
After three hours, Hijla police recovered two bodies from the river.
Hijla police station's Officer-in-Charge Asim Kumar Sikder said, the deceased were identified as Abdur Rob Bepari (55) from Gobindpur village, and Rajib Bhuiyan of the same village.
