Train kills motorcyclist at level crossing

A motorcyclist was killed as a train ran him over at Hajipara level crossing near Narundi station in the district yesterday.

Deceased Abdur Rahman, 40, was a fish feed trader.

Dewanganj-bound Teesta Express from Dhaka hit him at 11:50am while he was passing the level crossing, some 300 metres away from the station, said Jamalpur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Taposh Chandra Pandit quoting witnesses.

There was no gate at the level crossing, said the OC.

Police sent the body to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
