Three killed in road accidents

Three people were killed in road accidents in two districts in the last two days, according to report from our Faridpur correspondent.

In Faridpur, two people were killed and two other persons injured as a bus and pickup collided head-on on Dhaka- Khulna highway in Tatultola area of Sadar upazila yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Islam Biswas, 30, son of Rowshan Ali Biswas; and another Islam Biswas, 32, son of late Abdul Rahim from Magura.

One of them was the pickup driver and the other his helper, said police.

The injured, whose identities could not be known immediately, were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the bus and truck but the bus driver fled the scene.

In Madaripur, a youth was killed as a bus hit a motorbike he was riding on Dhaka-Barishal highway in Kornopara area of Kalkini upazila on Friday evening, said police.

The deceased -- Kamrul Mollah, 16, son of Selim Mollah from Ghuniakul area in the upazila -- was a worker of a motorbike garage.
