Subir Nandi flown to Singapore

Eminent singer Subir Nandi was flown out to Singapore for treatment yesterday.

Nandi was admitted to Singapore General Hospital around 3pm yesterday, said Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The singer best known for his playback songs in yesteryear films, who is suffering from multiple health complications including kidney and bone diseases, have been kept under life support in Singapore, the doctor told The Daily Star.

He was flown out of Bangladesh by an air ambulance earlier in the day.

Subir Nandi was taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on April 14, after he had a cardiac arrest while returning to Dhaka from Sreemangal by train.

Nandi had to be shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital, where he was put on life support.
