Star wins silver at South Asian Digital Media Awards 2018

The Daily Star has won silver at the prestigious South Asian Digital Media Awards 2018, jointly presented by WAN-IFRA (the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers) and Google.

The newspaper has won in “Best Digital Marketing Campaign” category for its “Praner Vasha” campaign, according to a press release. The campaign was a joint initiative with PRAN Milk.

The campaign was designed marking International Mother Language Day (February 21), where readers took part in different quizzes on the Language Movement.

For each category there are three awards: bronze, silver and gold.  This is the most notable recognition for publishers for their outstanding works in digital media. The awards are presented in every region: South Asia, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America.

The awards ceremony was held in Hyderabad, India on September 26. Editor and Publisher of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam received the award.

This is the second time The Daily Star has won South Asian Digital Media Awards.
