Officials of Soil Resources Development Institute (SRDI) today formed a human-chain demanding clarifications of the inconsistencies in the newly reformed organogram of the institute.

During the process of pay scale vetting by the finance ministry, the newly-created post of Director General (DG) of SRDI has been made as a post on deputation instead of being filled by the cadre employees of the institute through regular promotion, speakers said addressing the human chain.

Besides, the condition of holding the post of additional secretary or equivalent was imposed as another condition for the DG post.

In another move, despite there being a director post in grade-2, the post of DG was not proposed to be a grade -1 post. And another new post of director was kept under grade-3. So, in the same institute there has been created two director posts under two separate grades, they said.

As a result, the proposed organogram has become a strange and unnatural one, they added.

The gazette regarding the pay-scale vetting was published by the finance ministry on April 30.

Apart from demanding the removal of these discrepancies in the organogram, they also demand keeping the post of administrative officers under grade-10, cancelling the outsourcing condition for the recruitment of employees and including a post of Chief Scientific Officer as BCS (agriculture): Soil Resource Cadre.
