She Loves Tech’ startup competition focused on women and technology held in Dhaka

‘She Loves Tech’, a Beijing-based startup competition focused on women and technology, has been held at the ICT Division in Dhaka.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the event on August 31, expressing deep satisfaction on its prime focus on women and technology, a press release says.

He welcomed such programmes promising maximum support from our ICT Division, it said.

‘She Loves Tech’, is a global platform committed to building an ecosystem for technology, entrepreneurship and innovation that creates opportunities for women.

The competition held at the ICT Division was participated by seven startup teams from which the judges elected the top three teams.

They are: "WeeReach"; "Hello Task", digitally solving the problems of House Maid services of Dhaka city; and "Dhaka Cast", helping diabetes patients through a tech platform founded by three doctors themselves.

The winner amongst them was "Dhaka Cast", who would be flying to Beijing soon, alongside winning BDT (160k) prize money from EMK Centre, and Air Ticket from Red Canvas.

The winner from the local round would also get a once in a lifetime trip to Beijing, China, to attend a boot camp and participate in the global competition of She Loves Tech, the release read.

The competition was presented by International Organisation for Business and Engineering (IOBE), and Organised by Turtle Venture and Red Canvas.

The event was proudly supported by the ICT Division, Startup Bangladesh and EMK Centre; with The Daily Star as Media partner, Colours FM 101.6 as Radio partner; Leadsas as Logistics partner; and also Sponsored by Parking Koi and Rits Browser.
