Shamim Ahmed champion in 'Bangladesh Jiggasha'

A quiz show titled “Bangladesh Jiggasha”, sponsored by IFIC Bank, ended in Dhaka yesterday, says a press release.

Shamim Ahmed from Narsingdi became champion with a score of 105. Mohsin Ahmed from Pirojpur was the first runner-up, securing 100 marks.

The second runner-up was Benzir Ahmed from Jhenaidah with a score of 90, while Pritish Chandra Biswas from Barishal became the third runner-up by scoring 60.

The champion was awarded Tk 1 crore prize money, the first runner-up Tk 25 lakh, the second runner-up Tk 15 lakh and the third runner-up Tk 5 lakh.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal handed over the prize money cheque for Tk 1 crore to the champion.

The ceremony, held at FDC Shooting Floor, was aired by Independent TV. Khaled Muhiuddin moderated the event.

Beximco Group Vice Chairman and Independent TV Chairman Salman F Rahman, IFIC Bank Managing Director and CEO Shah A Sarwar and Independent TV CEO and Editor-in-Chief M Shamsur Rahman also attended the event.

Champion Shamim said, “This one crore taka will help me fulfill my dream.”

Mohsin said he will work for ensuring qualitative development of street children and women. And Benzir pledged to dedicate himself to setting up libraries.

In his speech, Planning Minister Mustafa Kamal requested the organisers to continue such an event.

Beximco Group's Salman F Rahman congratulated the winners.
