Rohingya youth arrested with 8,800 yaba pills

Officials of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) during a drive in Chittagong city's Chowmuhuni area arrested a Rohingya youth with 8,800 yaba tablets yesterday afternoon.

The arrestee was identified as Md Fayez, 25, who resided at the Kutupalang Refugee Camp at Teknaf, said Shamim Ahmed, deputy director of DNC, Chittagong.

On information, a team of DNC conducted a drive in Chowmuhuni area of the city and arrested Fayez with the yaba tablets around 1:30pm, said Shamim.  During primary interrogation, the arrestee admitted that he came from Teknaf to the port city to hand over the yaba tablets to a person, he said, adding that they are investigating into the incident, he said.
