Robi starts paperless e-registration for customers

Robi has started implementing an “Electronic Telecom Subscriber Acquisition Form-based paperless e-registration process” from September 1 following a directive of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.

Customers will be required to provide some basic information -- NID number, full name, present address, date of birth and biometric finger print -- to complete the e-registration process, Robi said in a statement yesterday.

The new process does not require customers to submit a photocopy of the NID card and photographs like before.
