Road crashes kill three

Three people were killed in road accidents in two districts yesterday, according to reports from our correspondent and a news agency.

An elderly man was killed as he was hit by a bus on Sunamganj-Derai road in Derai upazila of Sunamganj yesterday.

Kotai Miah, 70, from Sharifpur village, was crossing the road while the vehicle was approaching, Derai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Kamal quoted witnesses as saying.

UNB from Gopalganj adds, a mentally challenged student was killed as a bus hit him at Malek Bazar in Tungipara upazila.

Korban Sarder, 12, son of Nasir Sarder from Sriramkandi village, was a student of Special Education School and Vocational Training Centre for mentally challenged.

Tungipara police said the accident occurred when Korban came out of the centre without informing others.

Meanwhile, Seba Sarkar, 21, died after being hit by a motorcycle on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Chechaniakandi of Sadar upazila.
