Road crashes kill five

Five people were killed and four injured in four districts in the last two days, according to reports from our correspondents.

In Chattogram, Tahsin, 22, died as a truck hit him while he was crossing the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Satkania area yesterday.

Meanwhile, Jahangir Alam, 48, was killed after a bus knocked him down on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in the port city's Akbar Shah area.

In Faridpur, Sumon Sikder, 29, helper of a bus driver, was killed and four others were injured as the bus hit a truck that was parked beside Dhaka-Khulna highway in Dhuldi bus stand area of Sadar upazila on Monday.

In Jamalpur, Dilip Paul, 50, died after he was run over by a truck in Islampur upazila yesterday.

In Thakurgaon, Sheuly Ara Begum, 19, was killed after a truck hit a motorbike carrying her on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway in old bus stand area in the town yesterday.
