Rawnak Afza passes away

Begum Rawnak Afza, mother of Mercantile Bank Limited's Chairman AKM Shaheed Reza, passed away in Dhaka yesterday. She was 75.

She had been suffering from kidney diseases, says a press release.

She left behind her two sons, one daughter, grandchildren and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

Rawnak Afza's first namaz-e-janaza took place in capital's Uttara. She was buried at her family graveyard in Rajnagar village of Feni following the second janaza after the Maghrib prayers.

The board of directors, all executives, officers and employees of Mercantile Bank Limited expressed shock at the death.
