Rampal plant violates Paris Agreement

Environmentalists have urged government to immediately cancel the Rampal power plant project.

They made the call at a meeting in London on Saturday, observing World Peace Day for Sundarbans, organised by the UK chapter of National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports. 

“Rampal plant violates the Paris Agreement on climate change,” they added. Mostafa Faruk, convener of the committee's Europe unit, spoke at the event.c
