Rain, thundershower likely all over country today

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department today forecast rain and thundershowers with temporary gusts in all the seven divisions of the country in the next 24 hours.

There is also a possibility of hailstorm in many places across the country, said Mohammad Abul Kalam Mollik, meteorologist of the Bangladesh Met office.

The Bangladesh Met office has asked all inland river ports to hoist warning signal No. 1 due to the inclement weather, said Abul Kalam.

A total of 38 milimetres rain was recorded in Dhaka till 6:00am this morning. The wind speed during yesterday’s thunderstorm reached around 74km/hr which is considered as severe.  

The highest rainfall was recorded in Cumilla at 43mm.
