Punak to stand by crime victims of police families

The legal cell of the Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association (Punak) will provide legal assistance to police families in matters of domestic violence, harrassment, and dowry.

President of Punak Zeeshan Mirza made the disclosure while addressing a relief distribution programme on Wednesday.

"Upon receiving a complaint, the legal cell will investigate it and Punak will take steps and provide legal support to the victims," said Zeeshan Mirza, also wife of the Inspector General of Police.

The programme was held at Rajarbagh police lines auditorium where food packs were provided to those hit by Covid-19.

Zeeshan further said that while everyone has worked from their respective ends to contain the pandemic, frontliners deserve special recognition in this regard.
