Prof Mahbubur Rahman dies

Prof Mahbubur Rahman, director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), died at a Singapore hospital yesterday, aged 57.

Mahbubur, who suffered from respiratory complications, breathed his last around 12:20pm, said DSHE Director Shamsul Huda.

He left behind wife, a son, a daughter and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid expressed deep shock at the demise of Mahbubur Rahman.

The decision on Mahbubur's burial will be taken after his body reaches Dhaka today, said Shamsul.
