Pro-BNP lawyers win top Dhaka Bar Association posts
Pro-AL lawyers bag 13 posts of 23-member committee
Pro-BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami lawyers' panel won president and general secretary posts in Dhaka Bar Association (DBA) election today.
With the top two posts, their Blue Panel bagged 10 posts in the 23-member executive committee of DBA, while pro-Awami League lawyers' White Panel won the remaining posts in the election for 2020-2021 session.
Blue Panel's president candidate Md Iqbal Hossain got 4,952 votes while his rival White Panel's candidate Md Mosharraf Hossain bagged 4,215 votes in the polls.
Meanwhile, Blue Panel's general secretary candidate Md Hossain Ali Khan defeated the White Panel's contestant Md Ahsan Tarik by 302 votes.
