Policewoman found dead at house

A policewoman was found dead at her residence in the capital’s Motijheel area yesterday.

The deceased -- identified as Beauty Akhter, 22 -- was a constable at Company No-3 of Rajarbagh Police Lines, said Omar Faruqe, officer-in-charge (OC) of Motijheel Police Station.

They recovered the body, which was hanging from a ceiling fan, from her rented house at AGB Colony around 6:30pm, the OC told The Daily Star.

Beauty used to live there with her husband Tariqul Islam, said the police officer, adding that the man was being interrogated.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy, he said.
