PM buys ticket at govt hospital to see eye doctor

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday received treatment at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area, buying a ticket like any ordinary citizen would.

“The Prime Minister went there at 8am and took treatment like a general patient by purchasing a Tk 10 ticket from the outdoor section,” her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

The prime minister also enquired about the activities of the hospital and thanked its physicians and nurses, he said.

Sheikh Hasina had also received treatment from the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital in the past.

On July 22, the premier underwent a successful surgery in her left eye at a London hospital, during her visit to the UK.
