PM to brief media Wednesday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address a press conference on Wednesday to brief media about the outcome of her just-concluded visit to New York and India.

The press conference is scheduled to be held at her official residence Gono Bhaban around 3:30pm on the day, Ashraful Alam Khokon, deputy press secretary to the prime minister said this evening.

Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for New York via Abu Dhabi on September 20 on an eight-day official visit to the USA to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

She delivered the country statement at the 74th Annual General Debate of the UNGA in New York on September 27.

After four-days official visit in India, PM reached Dhaka on Sunday.

During the India visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi jointly launched three bilateral development projects and witnessed the signing of seven bilateral documents.

Indian National Congress President Sonia Gandhi accompanied by former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Priyanka Gandhi met Prime Minister Hasina at Taj Mahal Hotel on Sunday.

During her stay in New Delhi, the Asiatic Society, Kolkata conferred on the Prime Minister the 'Tagore Peace Award 2018' in recognition of her contributions to maintaining regional peace and prosperity.

During her visit to New York (September 22-29), Sheikh Hasina also held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27.
