Biman Hijack Attempt

Plane resumes operation today

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft that a passenger attempted to hijack, will resume its operation by flying to Sylhet from Dhaka this morning.

Shakil Meraj, general manager (PR) of the national flag carrier, told The Daily Star the Boeing 737-800 “Mayurpankhi” will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:45am.

On February 24, the aircraft made an emergency landing at Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport after a man allegedly attempted to hijack it.
