Besides, starting from 9am, the administrative activities continued till 5pm.

Nurul Karim, also acting controller of examinations, said, "The final exams (semester final) of different departments -- management, marketing, accounting, statistics, ICT, English and public administration -- have started."

Four buses of the university have been running since yesterday morning for students and teachers, said Emdadul Haque, public relations officer of the university.

"The number of buses will be increased, if needed," he said.

The university has been closed since March 17 last year due to coronavirus pandemic. Though the authorities started to take exams on December 20 last year, the university administration again stopped exams on February 23 following a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases.

On June 3, Cumilla University decided to hold in-person exams.

The authorities took the decision as the University Grants Commission on June 1 instructed public universities to hold examinations in person.
