Passenger with yaba in rectum held at Dhaka airport

A passenger with some 800 yaba tablets hidden in his rectum was held at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.

The detainee, Farid Ahmed, arrived at the airport by a flight of US-Bangla Airlines from Cox’s Bazar around 1:45pm, Alamgir Hossain, additional superintendent of police (Operation and Media) of Airport Armed Police, told The Daily Star.

Tipped off, a team of Airport Armed Police detained Farid from outdoor of the domestic terminal around 2:30pm and later recovered the yaba pills worth Tk 2.40 lakh from his rectum, said the police official.

Farid is a son of one Rahmat Ullah of Sabrang Lajirpara in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar, Alamgir Hossain added.
