Northern University holds 5th convocation

The fifth convocation of Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) was held yesterday on its permanent campus in the capital.  

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni presided over the ceremony on behalf of President Abdul Hamid. Ayman Sadiq, CEO of 10 Minute School, and Hussain Elius, CEO of Pathao Ltd, were convocation speakers.

Prof Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah, chairperson of NUB Trust, and Prof Anwar Hossain, vice chancellor of NUB, also addressed the event.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees were conferred to 3,435 students from different disciplines, and ten meritorious students were awarded gold medals for their excellent results.

Dr Mashiur Rahman, adviser to the prime minister on economic affairs, was the guest of honour, and Prof Kazi Shahidullah, chairperson of University Grants Commission, was the special guest.

All deans, heads of departments, teachers, administrative staff, journalists, educationists and VCs of different universities attended the programme.
