MP Manzurul Murder: Shamsuzzoha denied bail

The High Court yesterday denied bail to AJM Shamsuzzoha, an accused in a case filed over the murder of Awami League lawmaker Manzurul Islam Liton.

The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice SM Mozibur Rahman dropped a petition filed by Shamsuzzoha, seeking bail.

The HC order means that Shamsuzzoha was denied bail in the case and, therefore, he will not get released from jail, Deputy Attorney General Dr Md Bashir Ullah told The Daily Star.

Gaibandha-1 lawmaker Manzurul Islam Liton was killed after assailants opened fire on him inside his house in Sundarganj upazila on December 31, 2016.

Advocate Zainul Abedin appeared for Shamsuzzoha.
