Bangladeshi, Australian universities sign MoU

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) and Central Queensland University (CQU), Australia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Rockhampton in Australia on May 3, says a press release.

The signatories were Prof Nick Klomp, vice chancellor of CQU; and Prof Md Abu Saleh, VC of BUBT. AFM Sarwar Kamal, convener, International Academic Relations Advisory Committee of BUBT, was present on the occasion.

Prof Santi Narayan Ghosh, research director and head of IQAC; Prof Syed Masud Husain, dean of business and social sciences; and Prof Mohammad Ameer Ali, head of computer science and engineering at BUBT; Prof Helen Huntly, provost, Tertiary Education Division; Prof Lee Di Lilia, dean, School of Business and Law; Prof Susan Kinner, dean of Graduate Studies, Research Division; and Prof Quamrul Alam of International Business and Strategy, School of Business and Law from CQU, were also present.

The MoU aims to facilitate academic and research collaborations between the two universities.

Initially, five faculty members of BUBT will start their PhD programme with CQU from July. Subsequent programmes to follow are joint research projects, conferences, seminars and workshops as well as faculty and student exchange programmes.
