Mother, daughter found dead in Ctg

Police recovered hanging bodies of a mother and her two-year-old daughter in Sholoshohar area of Chattogram last night.   

The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Lakkhi Rani Sarkar wife of Sriranjan, and her daughter Anannya, police said.

Assistant commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Parittran Talukdar said Lakkhi’s husband, is a street vendor in Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) area.

He found his house door locked when he returned home last evening, and spotted the hanging bodies when he peeked through the door, added Parittran.

Locals gathered at the spot, knocked down the door and informed police.

Law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to CMC morgue for an autopsy.

The reason behind the incident could not be known immediately. Police collected primary evidence after visiting the spot, said the police officer, adding that they were interrogating the husband.
