Mobile top-up vendor stabbed to death in Ctg

A mobile top-up vendor was stabbed to death yesterday  allegedly by another shop owner following a feud over using WiFi internet in Chattogram’s Amin Colony.

The deceased is Abul Kalam, 25, son of Abdur Rahman, said police.

Inspector (investigation) Priton Sarkar of Bayezid Bostami Police Station said the incident took place around 9:30am.

On Tuesday, an altercation ensued between Abul Kalam and his adjacent shop owner Mamun over using WiFi internet, said the inspector quoting locals.

Following the incident, Mamun, his brother, and a friend went to Abul’s shop yesterday and started beating him. At one point Abul was stabbed with a knife, said inspector Priton.

He was declared dead after being taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Mamun has been absconding since the incident, but police arrested his friend Mosharraf Hossain, 36. The body was sent to CMC morgue for autopsy, Priton added.
