Man held with cocaine worth Tk 15cr

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a man with 820 grammes of cocaine worth around Tk 15 crore in port city early yesterday. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force arrested Md Bakhtiar Hossain (32) in Tigerpass area around 1:30am and seized the cocaine from his possession, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Tarique Aziz of Rab-7.

During primary interrogation, the arrestee admitted that he collected the cocaine from the city’s Agrabad area, claimed the Rab official.

Rab came to know the names of the supplier and the person who was supposed to receive the drug from Bakhtiar, he added.

A case was later filed with Kotwali Police Station.
