BNP yesterday said the government has published a list prepared by Pakistani authorities, to exclude “real Razakars”.

“Why publish the list after 48 years? There were errors on the list. Why such errors? That list was prepared by Pakistanis. It is not your (government) list,” said secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Addressing a Victory Day rally organised by the party, he said, “They (government) use the Liberation War as a political tool.”

The rally started from the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters. Party leaders and activists with festoons, national flag and portraits of Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman participated in the rally.

“They (AL) claims they are the custodians of the spirit of Liberation War, but they are destroying that spirit,” he alleged.

BNP standing committee member Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain said AL wants to stay in the office using force. He urged people to unite to “restore democracy”.
