LPG factory fined Tk 10 lakh

A mobile court of Khulna district administration yesterday fined an LPG company Tk 10.5 lakh for constructing structures  by grabbing parts of Pashur and Chunkuri rivers.

Executive Magistrate Imran Khan led the drive against G-Gas (LPG) factory in Dacope upazila.

He said the company built structures on the rivers illegally, and could not provide documents over other anomalies. They also did not have sufficient or working fire extinguishers and trees planted on the property as per law.

Officials of Khulna district police, Department of Environment, BSTI and fire service assisted during the drive.
