'Laxmir Haat' fair ends in Barishal today

A traditional fair known as “Laxmir Haat” has started at Hatkhola Hori Mandir in Barishal.

The idols of Laxmi -- the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity -- and other pottery items used in the Laxmi Puja are available in the fair.

The fair began on Monday afternoon and will end this morning ahead of the Puja to be held tonight.

Sellers from different places in Barishal, Jalakathi and Shariatpur gathered at the temple premises with their products.

Guru Das Paul, one of the traders, said at least 500 Laxmi idols are available in the fair.
