Lawmaker Habibur Rahman passes on

Awami League MP Habibur Rahman Mollah passed away at a hospital in Dhaka yesterday. He was 78.

The Dhaka-5 lawmaker was being treated at the hospital since April 25 for kidney complications.

He was undergoing dialysis and had suffered two heart attacks in the last few days, his son Masuzur Rahman Mollah said.

Habibur was buried at the city's Matuail graveyard after Asr prayers.

The four-time MP was born on January 27, 1942.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, leaders of AL and other political parties expressed deep condolences over his demise.
