Last tributes paid to Anwar Hossain

Hundreds of people from all walks of life converged at Central Shaheed Minar today to bid a final farewell to photographer Anwar Hossain.

His cadaver was taken to Shaheed Minar around 11:15am for a last tribute from fans, followers and well-wishers. His body was kept there until 12:30pm.

Eminent personalities like photographer Shahidul Alam and Bhorer Kagoj Editor Shyamol Dutta placed floral wreaths on the coffin of Hossain.

Many dramatists, film directors and photojournalists were also seen at the venue, who had all gathered to pay their final respects to a colleague.

Anwar Hossain’s two sons were also present.

The intellectual’s body will be taken to Dhaka University’s Central Mosque for the first namaz-e-janaza after Zuhr prayers.

He will later be buried at Intellectual Martyrs Graveyard in Mirpur.
