KIB agriculturists condemn attacks on them by rivals

A group of agriculturists yesterday condemned attacks on them by their rivals, over election of central executive committee of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB), and demanded justice over the incident.

According to a press release, around six agriculturists were injured in the attack on Thursday. They are currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The agriculturists, under a panel led by Saleh Ahmed and Moazzem Hossain, issued the release after holding a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity yesterday.

On Thursday, a Dhaka court issued an injunction on holding the executive committee's election for the 2019-2020 term, due to complexity in the voters' list and irregularities of polling officials, said the release.

On that day, the supporters of agriculturists Nitish Kumar Debnath and Khairul Alam Prince attacked the followers of Saleh and Moazzem twice, it said.

Currently, the panel led by Nitish and Khairul dominates the executive committee, it added.
