Keraniganj Blaze: 5 survivors released from DMCH

Five workers, who sustained burns in Keraniganj fire on December 11, were released yesterday from the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). They are: Aslam, Sazid, Jakir, Basir and Lal Miah.

Five other survivors are undergoing treatment at the burn unit. Three of them are expected to be released tomorrow, said DMCH Director Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin.

Two others are still on life support, but their condition have improved, said Dr Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

Twenty-two employees of a factory have died in the December 11 fire. 

“All the patients who were brought to the hospital had inhalation and deep burn injuries,” said AKM Nasir Uddin.
