Job fair held at IUB

The Office of the Career Guidance and Placement of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) held a daylong job fair for its students and graduates on its Bashundhara campus in Dhaka yesterday.

Rashed Chowdhury, former chairman of IUB board of trustees, inaugurated the fair as chief guest, said a press release.

Javed Hosein, member, board of trustees; Prof Milan Pagon, vice chancellor (acting), IUB; Md Abdullah Iqbal, deputy director, Career Guidance and Placement, IUB; Zara Mahbub, country director and CEO, KITC Ltd.; and Sheik Ehsan Reza, head of human resource management, Bashundhara Group, also addressed the inaugural ceremony.

The objectives of the job fair was to create opportunities for university graduates and students to know about the country’s leading companies and organisations. This fair also took them through operational procedures of the participating organisations.

The companies also got enormous possibilities of choosing resourceful and promising professionals who can really become assets for them.

Addressing the event, Rashed Chowdhury requested the students to take such a fair as an opportunity to build their careers.

A total of 46 multinational and national companies and organisations took part in the job fair. They collected a significant number of CVs from potential candidates.
