Jafar Ahmed’s first death anniv today

Today marks the first death anniversary of Jafar Ahmed Chowdhury, says a press release.

As a career civil servant, he served the government as secretary to the planning, environment and forest, and information ministries. He was also secretary to the president.

Jafar Ahmed was director general of BTV and Bangladesh Betar. He also worked as director of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation.

He served different ministries as senior assistant secretary, deputy secretary and joint secretary. He was deputy project director of voter ID card projects at the Election Commission.

In administration, Jafar Ahmed worked as deputy commissioner (DC) of Mymensingh, ADC of Dhaka and Sylhet, and UNO of Laxmipur Sadar, Araihazar and Keraniganj.

He has written several books covering economics, literature, political science and travelling.
