Indian high commission arranges tree plantation

Indian High Commission in Dhaka organised a tree plantation programme in the capital’s Sabujbagh yesterday, marking 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, said a press release.

Indian High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das, lawmaker Saber Hossain Chowdhury and Bangladesh Bouddha Krishti Prachar Sangha President Suddhananda Mahathero were present at the ceremony.

Riva Ganguly said, “We are emphasising two important messages which Gandhiji stood for: protection of environment and empowerment of women... it’s high time for all of us to give back to our environment.”
